Park Ambassadors

Basin Recreation loves its Park Ambassadors! The Park Ambassador program is an all-volunteer program that puts you in the parks, at events, and on the trails, promoting community stewardship. Our Park Ambassadors are monitoring parks for safety, answering questions, and interacting with our patrons, sending the message that the community cares about its parks and trails. There are many ways to help Basin Recreation as a Park Ambassador so please reach out via: Park Ambassador Program or contact Angie Greenburg at [email protected] / (435) 649-1564 x. 47. If you see our Park Ambassadors out and about, give them a BIG thanks because they are an integral part of the Basin Recreation team!

I am a mother of four, dog lover and outdoor enthusiast originally from Southern California but have lived in PC the past four years! I've been a Park Ambassador for a little over a year and I love it because it allows my kids, dog and me to have fun in the parks, trails and events that Basin Recreation offers! This is such a great community and being an Ambassador lets me feel like I'm apart of it.
P.S. If you love hiking try my favorite trail: Rob's Trail!

As a Salt Lake City native, I grew up playing in the Wasatch mountains.  I have many fond memories of riding the original Park City gondola when I learned to ski at age 6, as well as driving what was then a rough dirt road from the top of Main Street to Camp Cloud Rim in Bonanza Flats. I moved to Park City when I married my outdoors husband in 1993, and mountain biking did not include lift service.  Most of my current local recreation habits involve skiing/snowboarding, hiking, and walking my dog on the amazing trail system we have available to us.  I am most happy when I am outside!

I am a retired Professor of Biology at Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina.  I received a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Exercise Science from the University of Utah and a Ph.D. degree in Zoology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. My wife and I retired to Park City in January 2007 because of the many outdoor activities this area has to offer.  I play tennis year round, hike, fly fish the high mountain lakes in the Uinta Mountains, road and mountain bike, cross country ski, run, and work out at the Basin Recreation Fieldhouse gym.  Presently, I am a volunteer tennis instructor and a Park Ambassador volunteer for the Basin Parks and Recreation Department.  I also volunteer at the Swaner Ecocenter where I do water quality testing on East Canyon Creek, moose tracking, and willow cutting and planting.

I enjoyed a career as a public school teacher which spanned nearly 30 years.  My husband, Skip, and I  spent many summers traveling throughout the Southwest, enjoying visiting friends, sight-seeing, hiking the mountains, and biking the many trails around Park City.  We chose to retire to Park City because of the beautiful setting, the surrounding mountains, and the outdoor opportunities, as well as the many cultural activities available.  I enjoy running, cross-country skiing, biking, and hiking.  I am also an avid reader, fan of crossword puzzles and sudokus, and enjoy being a grandparent.  Skip and I spend so much time around the parks and trails in Park City that it seemed a natural match to become Park Ambassadors.  I also volunteer at the Kimball Junction branch of the Summit County Library

I love Park City! I came here 18 yrs ago not knowing how to ride a mountain bike or ski. Now I am addicted to the mountain bike trails and most recently the skate skiing trails. Great friends, amazing family friendly town, and the gorgeous blue skies are what keeps me here.

My husband and I moved here 12 years ago from Encinitas, CA. We wanted to get away from the congestion of Southern California.
Summer is my favorite season here since I don't ski. I love being close to so many trails for biking, hiking and walking my dogs. I took up mountain biking when we moved here and really love it. Round Valley is a favorite of mine, for all of those activities. I enjoy classes at Basin Rec, especially yoga, spinning and zumba.
