UNDER CONSTRUCTION – Trailside East Park
Trailside East is under construction!
Basin Recreation is excited to offer new amenities adjacent to Trailside Park!
In 2019, the District acquired the 68.52-acre parcel located on the northeast corner of Silver Creek Parkway and Trailside Drive through a generous grant by Summit County. Basin Recreation is developing 10-acres for the new park project and plans to preserve the remainder of the property as recreational open space with trail opportunities.
This new community park – Trailside East – will include two multipurpose turf fields, two pavilions, 127 parking stalls, and a restroom. Please view the site plan for more information.
The design and development of this park was driven by a community needs assessment conducted in 2019 which identified the need for additional field space. Public engagement included public meetings, social media outreach, website information, press releases in the Park Record, and information presented on KPCW Local News Hour.
As part of the due diligence for this project, the District engaged consultants to prepare (1) a baseline study to evaluate soil types, ecosystem types, plant community, and a wildlife habitat on the property; (2) a traffic study to analyze traffic flow in the area; and (3) an Aquatic Resources report.
Kenny Seng Construction (KSC) began work in March 2022 and is anticipating completion in September 2022. KSC will be focused on keeping a minimal impact to vehicle and pedestrian traffic in the area as the project progresses.
